Rambling

Wow, new xanga post interface. I guess  its been a while since I've posted. It cant help that they block blog related sites at work.

I took a personal day off today... not because I was really sick, but I just felt like getting some more sleep. Its the first day off I've had in a while. Its nice to actually get some more rest and just wander around the house. Its hard to get my mind off of work because it feels like you still have somewhat responsibility to make sure things are on track. Especially in consulting , where there are projects with aggressive deadlines. I even said to my project team.. I'm off today , but please call me if you need anything.   So not a TRUE day off eh.

So I turned 25 recently. Didn't feel like it. All I know is that my car insurance supposed to go down. Although I did receive my car insurance bill on the 6th (  2 days before my birthday ) I did not see a significant drop in the premium. LIARS!  Or maybe its that I have 7 speeding tickets on my record!!!!

I was supposed to go to DC to celebrate my birthday with my other colleages. It turned out we had dinner late and it was hard to get everyone come up from Richmond for it. It was rainy too. But man it would of been great to catch up with some my Hokie friends that I have not seen in a long time!! Thanks Delia for setting it up!! Ah I wish I could of gone. Its my fault, I let work take over my life. I'm pretty much booked on every weekend from now until the end of the year. Check my google calendar.

Oh Google. My life depends on gmail and g-calendar for organization. Most of my bills are paperless and electronic only. I like it that way. I hate getting paper bills that just stack up.

I bought shitload of DVDs and I have new guitar and amp/stack.   I bought a '72 fender telecaster deluxe reissue. Its white. I like it alot!

Viet came over recently and we collaborated on some songs. I hope we get to perform them sometime. I just realized that the stuff I've been working on solo and/or with Emil should not be under the "MSG" name. Its not fair to me, Viet or Emil. I noticed because someone mentioned that when they think of MSG they see it was the funny acoustic duo of Viet Phan and David Thong. So I'm going to keep it that way.  Now I just need to think of another band/side project name for my stuff.

Any ideas??

Thong is back

Friday marks the end of my travel to Wilkesboro , North Carolina.

I'm on vacation next week where I will be going back to my birthplace of Holbrook, NY in Long Island. I'll get to visit my old friends... my old house.. the pizza place I used to go to all the time....

I'll be going up with my sister. I've been back 2 years ago. She hasnt been back since we moved to VA in '93. It'll be fun times. oh yea.. she'll be going to Cambodia next month too. I'm jealous.

Then I'll start back to work again.. this time I'm in a project back in Richmond. No more 8 hour round trips.. no more crappy restaurants.. i'm stoked. The project is with a health care firm in which we will be modifying and upgrading w/ new features and enhancements. Basically alot of nerdy computer shit. Business solutions.

So basically if my sister gets a job and I get another huge raise in August , we're getting a house here. Richmond is growing city with many corporations coming in the future. Its not all GHETTO. I do admit parts of it is ghetto.. But what about DC. Every city will have its bad areas.

I will enjoy the no traffic
Less crowdedness
Privacy
Being able to afford mortgage on a nice house and have extra money for toys

So if I ever get sick of the crowd and the clicky asians, I have a place to escape.

:P
